Manchester’s skyline is continuing to evolve at pace, with an influx of skyscrapers and regeneration across the city. The investment into the city is clearly paying off, with an abundance of young professionals choosing to build careers in the city, contributing to city growth and a consistent tenant stream.

Sean Morton, chief executive of On the Beach, a major company based in Manchester said the pace of development in Manchester, particular the Acncoats district, has been “staggering.” Lawrence Newman, chief executive of Beauty Tech Group credited the city’s five academic instructions, and “the stickiness of people wanting to live here post-university” as key factors to the city’s growth. Newman is referring to Manchester’s incredible 51% graduate retention rate, second only in the UK to London.

With a 3.1% annual growth sustained over 10 years, Manchester’s economy has performed twice as well as the UK as a whole. The population is also growing at pace, with the city centre population now at 100,000, up significantly from just 500 in 1990. Manchester’s growth is outpacing the rest of the nation, and it’s showing no signs of slowing.
