{"id":7294,"date":"2025-10-09T13:29:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T13:29:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vitaliving-circlesquare.com\/?p=7294"},"modified":"2025-10-21T09:55:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T09:55:57","slug":"global-medical-giant-chooses-manchester-as-its-new-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vitaliving-circlesquare.com\/north\/global-medical-giant-chooses-manchester-as-its-new-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Global medical giant chooses Manchester as its new home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Major medical and technology firm <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.convatecgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Convatec<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, has revealed its strategic plans to move its Research and Development operations to <a href=\"https:\/\/bruntwood.co.uk\/scitech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bruntwood ScTech\u2019s<\/a> CityLabs 4.0 as part of over <\/span><b>\u00a3742 million <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of investment in the UK and US over the next decade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FTSE 100 company will pour the investment into a new \u2018flagship\u2019 Manchester hub in 2027.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The site is set to be one of the largest in its global network of technology and innovation centres, according to the group<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new site will be the location for vital research into advanced wound care, ostomy care, continence care and infusion care, placing the company at the forefront of medical technology development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interim chief executive Jonny Mason at Convatec said: \u201cOur plans to invest more than $1bn \u2013 anchored by major expansion plans in both the United States and the United Kingdom \u2013 demonstrates our unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare innovation for people living with chronic conditions around the world\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many of Convatec\u2019s current employees, based at the existing site in Deeside, North Wales will be relocating to Manchester as part of the new research hub.
