Aiming to \u2018pioneer a new model for economic growth\u2019 over the next decade, mayor Andy Burnham said \u201cGreater Manchester is the UK&#8217;s economic success story of the past decade. Powered by devolution, our journey of growth has transformed our city region and is opening up opportunities that people could not have imagined 30 years ago. Good growth is the defining challenge of our age \u2013 and today we are setting out a serious, practical plan to achieve it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manchester\u2019s economy has become the fastest growing across the UK &#8211; with an annual growth of 3.1%, more than double the rate of the country as a whole. The investment will mark the start of a new strategic partnership between the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Pension Fund to priotise local investment.
