{"id":7359,"date":"2026-01-16T16:08:54","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T16:08:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vitaliving-circlesquare.com\/?p=7359"},"modified":"2026-01-16T16:08:54","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T16:08:54","slug":"manchester-to-host-iconic-tour-de-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vitaliving-circlesquare.com\/north\/manchester-to-host-iconic-tour-de-france\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester to host iconic Tour de France"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 2027 men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s Tour de France will both begin in Britain, with Manchester a key part of the women\u2019s route.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Widely known as the world\u2019s most famous cycling race, the Tour de France began in 1903, originally created as a promotional event for newspaper L\u2019Auto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The women\u2019s Tour de France will pass through Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield, with the North West playing a \u2018central role\u2019. Manchester will host the end of the first stage and the beginning of the second stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, the women&#8217;s race.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manchester was named as the European Capital of Cycling in 2024, and is home to British Cycling.
