Venture Cafe Global Institute, the world’s leading innovation ecosystem activator strives to connect people and bring ideas together. With a model built around signature collaborative gatherings and programming, Venture Café convenes more than 100,000 innovators annually, all over the world, in cities such as Tokyo, Boston and now, Manchester.
The recent Manchester launch is a key part of a partnership between Venture Café and the UK’s Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA) to launch three UK Venture Cafe locations in 2025: London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Venture Cafe Manchester has launched at Sister, a world-class technology and innovation district in the heart of Manchester city centre. Transforming The University of Manchester’s former North campus, once home to the historic University of Manchester’s Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Sister will become a vibrant new city centre neighbourhood.
Steeped in a rich history of science and engineering, the £1.7 billion investment, previously known as ID Manchester, is a joint venture between The University of Manchester and Bruntwood SciTech.
This major regeneration scheme is one of several significant regeneration projects taking place across Manchester, and is located just a 10-minute walk from Vita Living Circle Square.
Tim Rowe, Founder and Chair of the Venture Café Global Institute, said “In a world dominated by digital connections, the real magic still happens when people meet in person, especially when they do so regularly. That’s what Venture Cafe is all about. Manchester has a rich tradition of tech breakthroughs, from pioneering the world’s first commercial computer to the UK’s first heart transplant, and is now powering ahead in areas such as AI, robotics and clean tech. We’re here to help innovators of all kinds to come together, collaborate and turn the best ideas into reality.”
