For the first time in its history, the renowned BRIT awards were held outside of London over the weekend, with the awards show moving to Manchester for both 2026 and 2027.

The awards show was held at Manchester’s Co-op Live – Europe’s largest indoor arena with a seating capacity of 23,000. The impact of the BRIT’s has been felt across the entire city, with special intimate concerts, exhibitions, artwork and get-togethers taking place across multiple neighbourhoods.

Manchester City Council said hosting the BRIT awards had brought significant economic benefit to the city, with hotels, hospitality venues and visitor attractions reporting increased demand throughout the entire build up.

Cllr Bev Craig said: The BRIT Awards and Manchester were made for each other. As a city known globally for music and culture, alongside our expertise in major events, we’ve come together to make the BRITs in Manchester a special celebration. Music, culture and creativity are a massive part of Manchester, both as a way of life and a driver that has helped shape the city we are today.”
