Canopius has announced the opening of its permanent office in Manchester, located at 100 Barbirolli Square in the city centre. Designed to support modern and flexible working, the new space will act as the company’s “Centre of Operational Excellence,” bringing together its global operational functions.
This hub will combine expertise in technology, data, project management, and operations, leveraging modern tools and AI-driven innovation to improve efficiency and scalability across the business. The Manchester office will become Canopius’ second-largest location after London, reflecting its collaborative and empowering culture within the specialty (re)insurance sector.
The company has committed to a ten-year lease, highlighting its long-term confidence in Manchester’s growing financial services industry and vibrant business environment. Since its beginnings in 2003 within the Lloyd’s of London market, Canopius has grown into an international group with over 1,000 employees worldwide. It has already established a strong presence in Manchester since 2022, creating around 90 technology and data roles, with plans for further growth.
Group Chief Operating Officer Kate Roy emphasised the city’s strong talent pool and supportive ecosystem, noting that the new office represents a significant long-term investment and will help the company continue developing expertise while delivering innovative solutions for its clients.
